Serstech's Arx mklI gives a preview of the future of handheld Raman and includes several industry-first and patented solutions, such as autofocus, one-touch scan, next-generation analytics engine and customizable workflows. Wi-Fi connection to ChemDash Pro allows for seamless transfer of data. The Arx can identify more than 24,000 substances and provides a multitude of library options, making it suitable for several different applications while remaining cost-effective. Its military-grade robustness makes it a great tool for operators in the field and is used by narcotics police, bomb squads, border control agents and fire fighters around the globe. Since the instrument can identify chemicals inside many containers without opening them, the health and safety of the operators is not compromised.
Serstech Arx mkII provides an industry-best user interface, which has been designed and developed in cooperation with police and first responder organizations, to better support the need of operators to be efficient and to reduce user error. The one-touch scan introduces the ability to by-pass all advanced settings and get a precise measurement in seconds, using one hand to operation the instrument. The latest generation of matching algorithms and analysis engine provides more accurate results for both pure samples and mixtures. The patented autofocus automatically finds the optimal measuring point and effortlessly reduces fluorescence and noise caused by the container material, such as plastic or glass. Serstech Arx is even smaller and lighter than the Serstech 100 Indicator and has the same robustness specification – MIL-STD-810G (vibration and functional shock) and IP67. The smooth surface is easy to decontaminate and clean and the robust display has been selected for its excellent clarity and contrast also in direct sunlight.
Arx mkII now has new accessories including the Capillary Probe, TraSERSwab, Puncture Tool and SERSdock. Raman spectroscopy typically has a problem doing a point-and-shoot measurement on a spilled liquid, espcially in HAZMAT identification; not so with the new Capillary Probe! The Capillary Probe draws a small sample - can be used on as little as 10 micro liters of liquid - and makes it easy to ID the liquid using QuickScan. TraSERSwab now gives SERS users the ability to check surfaces for residues of narcotics and CWAs. The Puncture Tool can be used by customs agents to punch into a wrapped bag to do direct Raman scan of the material inside. SERSdock allows transfer of a sample from Proengin’s S4PE sampler directly onto Serstech’s SERS accessory without having to take another sample.
